Senior Planning Engineer

The opportunity:
For the first 6–12 months, you’ll focus on a flagship underground project with a mine life of 10+ years. This gives you the opportunity to work deeply on a long‑life asset, influence strategic direction early, and see your work carry real long‑term impact. 

This is a hands‑on role with no team management. 

You’ll work closely with the GM, Principal Mining Engineer, and Senior Mining Engineer, with direct exposure to senior decision‑making.  

You’ll be involved across life‑of‑mine planning, scheduling, scenario analysis, optimisation, and future growth studies. As the business continues to expand, so will your scope and your career options. 

Snapshot of responsibilities:
  • Developing and maintaining underground long‑term mine plans 
  • Life‑of‑mine planning for long‑life assets 
  • Scenario analysis and optimisation using Deswik 
  • Working closely with senior leadership and site teams 
  • Supporting future underground expansions and growth studies .
Key requirements:
  • Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering or a related discipline 
  • Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience in the mining industry 
  • Proven underground production and mine planning experience in a mechanised hardrock underground mining environment 
  • Strong understanding of multiple underground mining methods 
  • Competency in mine planning and strong proficiency using Deswik.
